Werner ladder $129 but no free shipping!

I was just about to pull the trigger on this ladder--I've seen it discussed elsewhere as a good buy at $170 delivered regular price $190 or so.... on Amazon right now for $129. However, the shipping is over $30 putting total around $160 delivered. Still relatively good based on "deals" elsewhere but... am I dreaming thinking Amazon would have shipped this free in the past? Are items like this always charged shipping? I am asking mainly because I remember seeing Amazon warning that free shipping on tools and hardware was ending (of course I see plenty of both w/ free shipping still).

I bought the same one at Sam's for $99. I like it and use it around the house and garage quite a bit.

Sam's Club doesn't have them online. They only have the regular Werner ladders.

They should have it right now. They have had these for a few years for $99. BUT I do know they went to a different brand at the end of the last year, so they might have gone up. If you have a membership it would be well worth it to check it out. I have actually bought 4 or 5 of them for my parents, siblings, etc. and are nice ladders. They have recently started to sell the actual Little Giants, but look around they will have the cheap ones too.

Sorry, I bought the MT-26 not the 22.
Can not remember what Ipaid for it but it was during one off those low spots in Amazon pricing. Heavy ladder, need two people to safely manuver it though a doorway, at least I do. Feel very secure working near the top of the ladder. Had already picked up two MT-17s at Costco. Super price of $99. Looked at theit Costco branded ladder and thought it did not look as heavy duty as the Werner. More plastic, etc. Sorry, not on target for your answer but hope some of this will help.

yup, costco has the mt17 for 99 for the longest time. sams has the same height for 99 aswell.

Just an update, for anyone who is a member of Costco, I believe they have the ladder on sale for $69. YMMV though, worth a check if you are a member.

I've got the Gorilla version from Home Depot and I have been happy with it. I purchased the leg leveler for the expensive brand (Little Giant, I think) and it works great for it. Just wish they were a little lighter, but they they wouldn't be rated for 300 lbs.
