I don't know if it matters with Bosch. Most of what they make is high quality no matter where it might be made.

The recent thread about this saw referenced above has a whole discussion on the significance of the country of origin. But if you want a Swiss saw--you know, the one's with the holes in 'em --get the 1590 which is apparently still made there.
