Dado set at HF - 19.99

I went to HF at Lakewood, CA to buy some bar clamps and found a sale on a Dado set for $19.99 (reg 39.99). It wasn't on sale on their website or their flyer though. The set has at max RPM of 4500 so it may not work for all saws. Here is the set:

It's a piece of junk, don't buy it. This one on the other hand isn't half bad. Unfortunately it isn't available at the retail stores, at least not the one here.

****. too late already bought it. But I haven't opened it yet, so I should be able to return it. I saw that one also but as you say they only offer it online.

There's lots of stuff I will buy from HF, but a dado stack that's spinning towards me at 5000 rpm ain't one of em!

I have one from HF that was on sale about a year ago for $19.99, and have used it quite a few times on my Bt3100 and never a problem, cuts perfect,
smooth, flat bottomed dados eveytime I use it! eezlock

I got the 8" model for $20 on sale last year. Not sure what model but it say 8 x 22 C2 on the blade. Not used it but a few times but it has worked great. As long as I'm careful with chipper placement I get a smooth bottom on my dados.

I think we have the same set. Mine is 8" with 22T blades. I've never used a dado set before, what do you mean careful with chipper placement?

He means that you need to make sure that you don't let any of the teeth touch each other.

You also need to be sure that when you tighten down the arbor nut that the blades are snug up against one another. It's possible for one of the blades can get hung up on an arbor thread and cause a gap between the blades.
