Amazon spikes

Has anyone been on frozenwarrior and noticed some of the huge spikes in prices at Amazon over the last few days? There was a PC laminate trimmer that jumped up to 599!

Anyone know the reason or are they testing out some type of pricing deal.

I suspect this is their shady way so they can bring it back to normal selling price and say "look at me, I'm on sale for 87% off now!" ? You really need to watch the graphs on that price watch to see what they have been doing over the last few months.

Most large items (ie over 150lbs) are a bit inflated due to free shipping on those items.
