I wasn't planning on using slides but I guess I will have to check to see if they have em on clearance here. If they do I might have to redesign my project a little bit.
What in the world is the rationale for this kind of stuff. Lowes and Home Depot both do it. They put some riduclously low price on a staple item that they will obviously continue carrying.
I put a sprinkler system in my yard a few years ago. The sprinkler control wire normally sells for $20 for a 100' roll. They dropped the price to $1.99 for a couple of weeks, fortunatly right at the time I needed it, saving me over $150.
You guessed it, they still sell the exact same wire, same brand, etc., but the price is back up to $20. I'll wager that the exact same thing will happen with the drawer slides. They will continue to carry the exact same brand as before.
I can see putting a really low price on some item you want to get rid of, but to blow out items you fully plan to contine carrying just doesn't make any sense.
(Not that I mind that they do it! )
Got some too... only had 16" but I got 12
JG to answer your question, there could be many reasons for the inventory dump, things such as a minor change in the safty instructions in the manual to conform to a new law. Or a change in packaging. How they arrive at a price beats me. But I'm sure its related to cost of the item, vs. the amount that the supplier will eat...
Like you said, "not that we mind that they do it "
Picked up a few at the Simi Valley, CA store
I took the last few 24". There was still a bunch of the 16" and 3 unopened BOXES of the 22" (well, only 2 unopened after I got mine!)
well, i am happy they put this out just now : i was planning to replace all my kitchen shelfs with rollouts, and this saved me a substantial bundle. i was thinking fully-extended, but at this low price, these euro (3/4th extended) ones have no match

Thanks for the tip. I stopped yesterday and got 4 each of 16" and 18". I wanted 22", but they were out. 8 slides for $11 is a great deal. Now I just need to find a use for them.
