Hmmmm, interesting!

Now, are those tungsten carbide cutters on that inner band, shaped so the ring goes on easy, but shreds your finger should you try to remove it?

There were a bunch of those rings being sold on ebay some time ago for about $100 each. The cheap carbide ones are OK until you drop it, which causes it to shatter. You might google around and see what you can find before you buy something like that.
