Porter-Cable 19.2V drill @ Lowes

Hi All,

I was at the local Lowe's yesterday (Louisville, CO) and saw they were selling a Porter-Cable 19.2V cordless drill for $100 ($99.something). They had 3 or 4 in stock.

Would have picked one up myself if the timing was better - Christmas has pretty much wiped out our discretionary income. Hope some of you here can get this deal, though!

That PC drill is the model 9826 and according to the shelves at my local Lowes, $99 is the regular price. Amazon has the same thing for $212.

Either PC is dumping the 9826 or Lowes goofed on the price.

That is a great deal. It is around $200 at Amazon, Tool King, even Porter Cables CPO units are $189.95. If I didn't like my Bosch 14.4 so much I would get this thing. Still . . . .

This drill was part of the black friday sales. I picked up two on black friday for $99 each. They went back to full price at my lowes a few days later but were soon marked back down to the $99 price.

So far I like the drill. Plenty of power and descent battery life. Well worth $99.

Hey Jeff your bosch 14.4 do you find if you charge the batteries full then not use for 4-5 days, do they retain their charge? I have a craftsman 14.4 that the batteries die if sitting not used for a couple of days. Thanks

I have a Bosch brute 14.4V drill and a 12V Impactor. I don't use them much at times and after sitting idle a couple of months the batteries are still strong. Usually after a couple of months I use them doing something to let the batteries wear down a bit and then charge them full again making sure not to charge a hot battery. I unplug the charger after it shows the batteries are fully charged also though I probably don't really have to as I think the BC005 is a smart charger.

Be cautious.
I almost bought this drill until I read reviews on amazon that said that the batteries are only the 1.3 AH instead of the normal PC 2.4AH ones.
I wonder how it compares to the ryobi 18V drill / impact combo pack for $95 that is in another deal thread?
