    Any ROS deals?

Any deals on Random orbital sanders out there?

My dad's just bit the dust and he announced he wants one for Christmas.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, that's tough. Please allow me to offer my condolences. How old was he?

BTW, announcing your dads passing really isn't a bargain alert.

          Stormbringer.......very funny....lol.

The dewalt does seem like a decent deal, but as cheeky said, not a ROS. He doesn't need a real fancy one as he's not likely to use it extensively. Variable speed isn't really required, but decent dust collection would be nice and prefer hook and loop attachment rather than stick on. Would also like to keep it around $50-60 give or take.

          Thanks again.

              Michael,

Definitely go hook & loop. There was a thread about this about a month ago. Nobody really prefferred stick-on. Do pops right.

If you can save on the VS, I would skip that option.

I'd look at the Ridgid ROS. Good price and you can just hook up a regular vac hose to it. Some of the others you have to buy their special hook up as I recall unless they have changed. Bosch got a really good review as well as PC though but I am happy with my Ridgid although the review said that it wasn't as aggressive as some of the others. I actually prefer that over an aggressive one. If I want aggressive I use my belt sanders. My 2 cents.

                  I have 3 of these and love them. . . .

One I have had for a couple years, the other 2 are a few months old that I bought from CPO. They are awesome, especially with the $5 hose attachment.

I'd recommend the Ridgid ROS. Electronic Variable Speed, long cord w/lighted plug and velcro cord wrap, great case, and base plates for either PSA or Hook & Loop paper. Also has 90-day satisfaction guarantee, 3-year warranty, and (if you register the tool) a Limited Lifetime Service Agreement which covers everything including motor and brushes for the life of the tool.

Price is a $69 I believe, but there's a few 10% coupons seem to be pretty common. You could ask one of the sales guys.

                    Merry Christmas,

                    CWS
