Start from Dec 14 to Dec 17, lowes has porter cable 6-gallon aircompressor kit for $99.94 reduced from $169. Here is the link. If you can find lowes 10% or even 20% from homedepot, that will make this deal even better. I used a 10% coupon from lowes, and get it $94.45 out of the door.

i was at Lowes today, trying to decide which compressor to buy my brother for Christmas, and the fantastic associate plugged the Hitachi EC79 in for me.

Wow! It is so much quieter, and only $49 more than that PC (it's currently $149).
It rates at 75 decibels, and the PC comes in at a whopping 92 dbl. It was so overwhelming that another customer who came in for the sale priced PC ended up buying the Hitachi.
The associate was super cool, I told him I had to run out to my car to get a 10% off coupon, and he said don't waste your time, and proceeded over to his desk and granted me one

Would you have the specs on that unit? Size, cfm, what comes in the box etc...
Thanks
They've done that for me twice. Never such luck at HD though. There they look at ya like your trying to take $ out of their paycheck IMHO.

WHAT!?!... I CAN'T HEAR YOU. MY COMPRESSOR HAS BEEN RUNNING NON-STOP THE PAST FEW DAYS WHILE I'VE BEEN RE-TRIMMING THE HOME OFFICE.
If you can deal with the noise...it's a good deal I think I paid $200 for mine with 2 guns.I like Wagoneers too. Hey...they've got wood

I have the PC kit. It's IS REALLY LOUD! But, I got it with the 3 nailer deal and I still think it's an exceptional value and would buy it again. Now, a second compressor wouldn't be so bad, or maybe I could get the hitachi and give my brother my PC.... Nah. I'll keep what I have and make sure I grab my ear protection.Comment

I plugin the PC compressor, yes, it is really loud like your guys have said, I just could not bear it without ear protection. So I decided to return it and exchanged a Hitachi EC79 this morning. I was still able to use my 10% coupon for exchanging
. I haven't test it yet, but I will do that after work today. I noticed that PC compressor use a universal motor, while Hitachi use an induction motor which will be much quieter and more energe efficient. Thanks for the suggestion.

Greg,
here's a link to the specs,http://www.hitachipowertools.com/sto...49,p548,&tab=2 the only thing they don't mention is the decibel rating, which is 74....as opposed to the 92 on the PC. In addition, the recharge time is under 20 seconds, in contrast to my PC pancake which I clocked this morning to be anywhere from 35-40.
And as xl stated, it's an induction motor.
Best,
Pete
PS, Lowes has by far the best price, nobody online is even close, especially with the 10% off coupon.PeteComment
