That is in store price as well.

I would have jumped on it, but I just spent $$$ on wood for my miter/planer cabinet and have the wood cut and ready for assembly.

No - it's a good little stand that I bought a couple of years ago when I bought the Ryobi miter saw. I got a new Porter Cable slider last year and needed a bigger stand. (stealth gloat I guess )

I bought the Ryobi CMS stand about a year ago. I love this thing! I have a Ridgid 10 CMS mounted to it, so I would think almost any 10- or 12-inch CMS would work fine, but unless the back holes and front holes are perfectly aligned, you'll need to mount the saw to a piece of plywood and then mount the plywood to the saw mounting brackets. (There are two brackets with a slot down the middle, hence the need for front and back mounting holes to be inline with each other.) You might note that you CANNOT use a sliding miter saw on this stand. The specs say the stand has a 400 lb capacity.

The two saw mounting brackets have lockdown handles in the front and whether your CMS is mounted directly or via the plywood, it's really easy to remove the saw for transport. You can also buy additional mounting brackets for around $20 or so, as I recall. (Parts order).

The legs fold up easy and once folded under the saw, you have a very narrow assembly so it's easy to carry up and down stairs and through doorways. The extension tubes also provide good out-board support.

Why can't a slider be mounted on this stand?

I can only guess, as I don't have a slider. But it is probably because Ryobi doesn't want the liability, hence the caveat. With a slider, I would imagine that when the saw is moved outward the shift of balance would be outboard of the stand's center of gravity.

While it appears that the weight shift would not be beyond the supporI of the stand I don't know that for sure, because the leg spread is pretty decent appears to me to be more so than the Ridgid MSUV. (When I get a chance, I'll measure the leg spread on the Ryobi stand.) Certainly the published specs for the weight capacity (400 lbs.) is much higher than the MSUV and many of the other folding miter saw stands.

are you running a 12" slider?

i really like the ryobi stand, but noticed their caveat, that you shouldn't use the stand with a 12"CSMS.

Right out of the Ryobi online manual:

"This saw is designed for use with miter saws with a blade diameter no larger than 12 in., or a slide miter saw with a blade diameter not larger than 10 in."

Looks like those of us with 10 inch sliders (Bosch 3915 in my case) are OK.
