Ryobi 18 Volt Drill + Impact Driver - $119 at HD

    All,

Noticed my local HD had the Ryobi 18-Volt drill + Impact driver kit marked down to $119 from $139. Kit had 2 batteries and a charger included. I have neither tool, but do hear good things on the forums about them from a value perspective.

From the web site, looks like the in-store SKU is 241339.

    Regards,

    Pete

I'm seeing the same thing in my area. HD is having some great sales on just about all the Ryobi cordless tools. Wish I was needing something but I have all the cordless stuff I need.

I already have the 18v drill, but I'd consider this still because of the additional batteries and the charger and the fact that the impact driver is $80 by itself last time I checked.

Impact driver best tool in the 18v line, IMHO. Currently $69 in my HD around the corner

You're right, the impact driver's only $70. Which makes the deal lukewarm for me. Two new batteries in a 2-pack are $40, and a charger is $13 nor online. So, you'd save only $3 now, or $10 when the charger goes back up to $20. And personally, I never run out of two batteries in a row.

              I agree!

Yesterday I had to replace the license plates on our car. Took a good screwdriver and had at it. One of the screws just would not budge, and eventually the driver started slipping and the head got mangled.

So I thought "I wonder if..." and pulled out the impact driver. Even with mangled screw head it had not much of a problem getting the screw out. A couple of 'impacts' and it started to back right out.

Had a 3" deck screw with partially stripped head in a bad place; needed to remove to replace. NOTHING would work. Thought I'd have to cut it off & drill out/plug. Took impact driver out and by feathering the trigger was able to back screw completely out, no problem. Have old van that friend borrowed to do some hauling. He ran into someone and tore up the driver side fender. Stripped old one off and replaced using, you guessed it, impact driver. I do service work for some of my customers on their equipment using, yes Virginia, my impact driver! Don't know why I'd need one of the models with 1000+ in/lbs cause I've twisted several heads off/shafts in two with this one. How did I ever get along without it? I know I'll never use a drill for a driver again!
