Price protection at Amazon??

    Price protection at Amazon??

    Yesterday I placed an order for $800 with Amazon.
    Today I noticed the price had dropped and the same order would cost about $700!
    I checked my order status and it is too late to cancel my order and re-order.
    Does Amazon offer any price protection policy whereby I can call and get the price adjusted or am I SOL?

    There is a customer service number on the site and if you call it they refund the difference. Go to the help screen then select A - to - Z Guarantee Protection. From there select Contact Us Talk to Customer Service by phone. You enter in some information then Amazon will call you. Usually very quickly.

      Until your order shows "shipped" you can cancel.

      If worse comes to worse, you can refuse the package, it will go back to Amazon, and you will be refunded.

      Amazon Customer Service told me to do that when the exact same thing happened with a mixer I ordered (and there was only a couple of day lag while I technically paid for both mixers...i.e., I ordered the other as soon as Amazon told me to do this, and refused the wrong one.)

        go to this page, sign in, and where it asks what the email is for highlight "refund" then in the box just paste your order #. Below that tell them that you just ordered it and the price has dropped. They will credit you will the difference.

          I bought a digital camera a couple of weeks ago from amazon, the price dropped $15 2 days after I placed the order. I emailed their customer service and they replied the next day stating that they processed a credit to me.

              I don't anticipate you having any trouble getting an adjustment.
