Delta Hybrid Table Saws - Interest?

Ok, I may be able to get a hold of a few Delta 36-71X series tables saws.
See this PDF for manual :

    http://media.ptg-online.com/media/dm...9-11-12-04.pdf

Note the one shown in the manual has Bess fence. The ones I may be able to get would have the Delta T style fence "T2", which pretty muchs makes it identical to :

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...088922-7372963

I need to gauge interest in these units at a price of around $400-$500, most likely in the mid point. I am not holding anyones feet to the fire, just trying to get a general idea of demand. I would highly, highly prefer local pick up (I am in York, PA) but buyer could arrange shipping which would have to include lift gate pick up since these things weight around 400 lbs.

    Dang it, Jeff!

You need to move to Illinois

I would easily give up my Delta 36-675 TS for one of these.. I'll try to post my TS on craigslist and see if somebody would be interested. I'll PM you with the update.

Any idea what trucking for something like this would be to the west coast?
if it's under $300 it still would be a pretty good deal.

Absolutely no idea on shipping to west coats, however I think it would kill the deal. $450 + $300 = $750. Someone at Amazon was drinking heavily one day and sold these units for around $550 including free shipping. It was obviously a mistake, however my guess is that you would be able to catch one on sale for $750 including shipping from Amazon. $750 kind of starts to put it in the catagory with a lot of other hybrids. The Craftsman 22124 can be had for $750, includes a better fence and has a better trunion system.

              How is T2 fence?

I have 52" right cut Unifence on my contractor saw.

Would T2 fence be alright? Would the T2 fence fit contractor saw? If it does, then maybe I can transfer T2 fence over to my contractor saw to sell it off and put the Unifence on the Hybrid.

Heck! for $450 I would not mind drive to York PA for it. (I live in Collegeville PA so couple of hours drive I think. I think I can get my godfather to graduate from his Dewalt into this one.. Hmm.. Maybe I can get him to graduate into my contractor's saw.. )

By the way, what kind of motor does this come with? My contractor's came with 1 1/2HP Baldur when wired to 220 will output 2HP (I checked the Amps, and it is correct, 15Amps at 110V and 10A at 220 and NOT 7.5A at 220)

I hear that it is not very easy to get the trunnion streight if it does not come from the factory right (something about bolts being hard to get to). also, I heard from Amazon that the cast iron wings may need to be filed out on the edges to get them streight and flat against the main cast iron top.

              Thanks.

I know exactly the same as you, i.e. what I see on Amazon.

I will know more tommorow about whether it is feasible to get them or not.

The T2 fence is pretty good. It's a biesemeyer knock-off. I've used it and it works well. At that price, you should have a good bit of interest. That's a pretty good saw for an excellent price.

I have the T2 fence on my Delta 36-675 TS and I added a 7ft T2 rails so that it could take advantage of the router table extension for the mobile base I built.

I've never owned a TS with a Biesemeyer fence so can't really compare but the T2 fence looks like a replica of the Biesemeyer fence.

$400-$500 for the saw and T2 fence? I think I'd be very interested, especially since I drive through Harrisburg on my way home for Thanksgiving.

Please keep me in the loop!

I bought one with the T2 fence and I love it. Cuts like BUTTAH and very accurate. Top is dead flat and I am not worried about the trunion critisism. No regrets. I paid just under $700 at a discount. $500-600 would be a screamin' deal!

The T2 is more like a Biese-Lite....smaller tubing, not quite as heavy gauge, but functionally a very similar design.

Ok. I have a minimum of 4 of these. It is possible that by the end of the day I will have 8. I will be picking them up Monday 11/13/06 outside of Philadelphia. The price per unit will be $450 no tax. I MAY be able to deliver some of these depending upon your location. Delivery will be $50 for the first unit, $25 for each additional. Of course I will have mileage limitations and will need to be able to hit all spots in 1 day/night. I am figuring area to include Philly, central NJ, Baltimore, Harrisburg, York, maybe even out to State College. As long as I can make a rational trip out of it I will consider it.

These are on first come, first serve. They are all new and come with standard Delta warranties. It is my understanding that these units have a T2 fence. The T2 fence is a T-Style Biesemeyer cloan that is supposed to be pretty solid. It has aluminum faces on the fence versus the Biesemeyer which has baltic birch / laminate face. It is my understanding that these units are complete. I know the table saw crate, a long box for the rails and one additional larger box are included in each unit. I am a little confused by this since some folks on Amazon say that their units came with 3 boxes via UPS and 1 (the saw) via common carrier however this involves a Biesemeyer fence verus the T2 so that may be the difference. I will inspect all units prior to delivery and call if there is anything missing or different prior to delivery. I would likely prefer COD but may consider PayPal if fees are paid by buyer.
I would prefer email versus PM. Please use cadreaming01@yahoo.com.
