This is the first time that I have ever witnessed Amazon doing this on a small item. Usually, you see changes in free shipping versus paid shipping on larger items > 100 lbs.

    Edit : And I don't like it.

I am no lawyer but I would have to wonder if they're exposing themselves to complaints (or worse) if people can demonstrate that Amazon sold thousands of 'Prime' subscriptions to people and then systematically reduced the number of items available for free shipping.

        Hmmmm

I'm going to try to wait it out a few weeks. Pretty bad when the item is avaiable locally @ retail for less or another web merchant (ToolsPlus) also for less w only $6 shipping.

I ordered this jig over 3 weeks ago, and it finally shipped yesterday...with the shipping charge tacked on. Ironically, my invoice stills says "shipping method: FREE Super saver shipping" and then the charge shows up next to it. I wrote to amazon customer service...the response scolded me for not understanding the conditions regarding free shipping, and pointed to some pat-on-the-head link about their super saver shipping policy. They said they would refund the charge "just this once."

I was more than a little irked by that, considering the fact I have the original receipts which show the proper amount. It may not have free shipping on it now, but it sure did when I ordered it *almost a month ago*.

I enjoy the great deals available on amazon, but this whole "charge you a new price once the item ships" left a bad taste in my mouth....hopefully it really was an accident.

If it's any consolation TLT, they did exactly the same thing to me. I just sent my complaint email in.

            Bonus, it's out for delivery...

Wasn't really planning on making dovetails this weekend, am now though.

              Change

Amazon lately not up to their usual high standards. I would've ordered by now but all these recent "games" have me concerned. I may end up buying from a local retailer. No postage there...

Fast turn around on clearing it up.

"Please accept our sincere apologies for the additional shipping
charge that was mistakenly applied to your order.

To compensate you for this mistake, I have refunded the total
shipping charges of $9.99. I hope this solution is satisfactory.

This refund should go through within the next 2 to 3 business days
and will appear as a credit on your next credit card billing
                statement."

I order silly amounts of things from Amazon, and this is the first real mistake they have made on any of my orders. Also the first one to ship excessively late.

Thought I would post here, since this seems to be more of a discussion about Amazon errors.
The Bosch router kit, that several people (including myself), had change in their wish lists, from the 1617evspke to the 1617evspk, WAS mislabeled on Amazon. It appears that the E kit is back, and is using the same description, that was swapped to the 1617evspk.
On a plus note, I followed another posters advice, and contacted Bosch, and I should be recieving the two "missing" templates.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

                    So...

The project I started today doesn't need a DT jig. The next one will. So hopefully it will be corrected by then. $80 and $109 are a LOT BETTER THAN $159 PLUS SHIPPING!!
