Sears in my area refused to price match because it was a clearance item. Anyone got any tips on talking them down to the $40 price?

Same here. I have the Hitachi M12V anyway, so I just said 'OK' and walked out. If anyone wants to pay $114 for it (about what you can get the M12V for on sale) they have one in the box plus a display model at the Pheasant Lane mall in Nashua, NH.

$75.30 in Wisconsin for the floor model
Not as good as the ones the rest of you scored for $40.00 but they were stuck on the $92.97 price that the computer brought up... Had to get the manager to get 10% off the floor model (no box, manual, wrench or 1/4" collet adapter)... got another 10% off for using my Sears card. Can any of you who got one in the box tell me if there is anything else I am missing? Is there an actual 1/4" collet and nut or just a 1/4" TO 1/2" sleeve? Ryobi's site had a manual for their 601 model router which appears to be quite similar. Would someone be so kind as to post the phone number for service that appears in the manual so that I can call and try to get a manual for mine? Anyway, thanks for the tip and happy shopping!Last edited by jspringer; 11-05-2006, 08:02 PM.Comment

I scored one in Mesquite Texas @ Town East Mall for 39.97. I looked all over for one and found it behind some circular saw boxes. No more to be seen.ChrisComment

How many of you folks called before you went to the Sears? I called about 8, within an hour of where I live in New York and all said they were out. I have a sneaking suspicion that the computer doesn't always reflect what's on the shelves.....
Anybody picked one up in either NY, CT, NJ or Ma?PeteComment

Anyone has or can pick up an extra one?
If anyone has nailed an extra or can pick-up another, PLEASE let me know as I'd be willing to buy it off them (and a little extra for the effort) ... Sears here in Canada can't even find a router with more than 2-1/4HP, so I can't even check to see what the price is on this side of the border!
PM or Email me ...Last edited by JSCOOK; 11-15-2006, 09:19 AM."Experience: that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn". by C.S. LewisComment

CTXMAN,
I dont have access to my photobucket account at work, but for a picture of this router in the box, there is one on ebay that has lots of photos:

I finally found one, but it is a floor model. The Sears associate agreed to sell if for $19.95, and it is in great condition.
Can somebody fill me in on what the router comes with? The only thing included is obviously the router and 1/2" collet. So what am I missing? The wrench, owners manual, 1/4" collet adapter? Anything else? I would appreciate any insight.
Also, does anybody know if you can get Craftsman owners manuals online?
Best,

Here is the manual for this, hopefully this will work. I had to compress it to allow upload. Let me know if this works or not

The reason they are "out" when calling on the phone is because the employee sees the huge discount and figures he can make a quick hundred or so re-selling it on ebay. He tells you it is "out" as he quietly snarfs up the router and purchases it. I have seen this happen all too often. How many of you folks called before you went to the Sears?
