Sears 24" bar clamp, 1/2 price

    http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...seBVCookie=Yes

Sears 24" hand ratchet bar clamp is on sale for $9.99. Buy in store or re-bate for free shipping on on-line orders.

Are these better than HF's and worth the $10?

Can you test your link? It's not working for me. How about an item number b/c only the 12" is on sale for $9.99 according to their website.

    Thanks,
    Greg

Yes the sale clamp is the 12'' #931484
but they also have a 12'' #931482 for $16.99 regular price
24" shows at regular price $23.99
Ones similar that I have seen in store looked somewhat higher quality that HF ones (which I have and use) but all like this have a lot of plastic parts and can't take too much force.
Good when you need to hold and clamp with one hand though.

I have a pair of the 12" clamps that I really like. They have a very broad clamping surface, and having a reverse action lever to disengage the clamping pressure is sometimes very handy. Well worth the $9.99 (which is the sale price I paid last year), IMHO.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew it mustv'e been to good to be true. I have a bunch of the 12's but have never seen the 24's go on sale for 1/2 off.

IMHO they are wll worth the $9.99 sale price. They are much beefier than the HF's, provide a larger clamping surface, and a trigger release unlike the cheaper models that have a button that loves to stay stuck if too much pressure is applied. I have used them for the obvious as well as straightening bowed framing members and, in spreader mode, for pushing locking laminate flooring nice and snug.

I think I just talked myself into getting a few more....
