So did I, then I contacted them (a somewhat painful experience) to ask how to subscribe online, my preference, and get the $12.95 price. (no can do).Originally posted by jarheadI received an offer by mail for a 1 yr subscription for $12.97 which includes a 100-page book with 250 shop tricks and annual router issue. Which one would you go for?
During the email exchanges they sent this URL for the half price.
It's just me jarhead, but I have found that everything in all the shop tips and tricks books are available here and elsewhere on the net.

Sorry to go off topic but how does "Mags For Less" sell 60 issues of Penthouse for $8.50? Isn't it like $6 or $7 an issue? They can't possibly be making any money on that....Originally posted by sweensdvI don't mean to hijack your thread Ken but here's another deal that might interest somebody, http://magsforless.com/pd_american_woodworker.cfm

Sure they can. They make money by selling advertising space. The larger the paid circulation the more they can charge for their ads. There are many business and industrial magazines that give away free subscriptions and make money only on advertising revenues.Originally posted by StormbringerSorry to go off topic but how does "Mags For Less" sell 60 issues of Penthouse for $8.50? Publishers have to achieve certain circulation numbers to satisfy the guarantees they have made to their adverisers. Therefore they will **** near give the subscriptions away when necessary.
I have purchased a bunch of subscriptions on Ebay from one of the larger sellers and have been totally satisfied.Comment

So true! I was thinking of the Popular Woodworking subscription, but I've seen too many "Solid workbench for under $43.25" articles.Originally posted by Rob Rc/mon i'm sure there is at least one clamp rack from 2x4's that hasn't been in family handyman 6 times!!

I'm still waiting to see an article to make my circa Y2K-attached-garage fit all of the stock, jigs, and power tools alongside a mere two GFCI outlets and the wife's Honda Pilot.Comment

Haven't used them, but everyone should run from Magazinesurplus.comOriginally posted by jonathan55Has anyone tried Mags for less? Are the legit?
I won't go into the gory details, but I've just finished putting my credit card company on them and filing a complaint at BBB.

I placed an order with them on July 31 for the American Woodworker. When I placed the order they said I should get me first issue in 8-10 weeks. Yesterday I checked on the status of my order and it shows that I should receive my first issue towards the end of this month or early next month. So, yes I've tried them but I won't know if they're legit or not for another few weeks.Originally posted by jonathan55Has anyone tried Mags for less? Are the legit?_________________________
