Quite to the contrary, HDT usually beats the pants off Amazon, especially on close out deals.

The Makita slider sounds like an excellent deal. Only if this deal was around a week earlier, just picked up the Bosch slider.

I read this about 36 minutes after it arrived. Already sold out. I think these deals can be sorta teasers but I'm happy with my Makita LS1013 so it didn't sting. Gotta keep a sharp eye on Heavy Duty Tools, they have a devoted following here.

One thing to keep in mind is that HDT sends out god knows how many emails announcing these deals. I received my email from them announcing this deal 3 hours before thallikar posted this thread. It wouldn't surprise me one bit, especially based on the price that they were offering the LS1013FL for, if they weren't already sold out before this thread was even posted.

They sent out the email at about 1:15 ET before they made them available. If you checked then they were out of stock, and the item description said that they would be in stock at 2:00 ET. When i checked back just after 2:00, they were in stock and have been for a few hours.
