35 Piece Router Bit Set for $39.00

Anyone tried these router bits? Or the auger bits?

Probably not the best quality but prices sure seem good and shipping is free.

I usually check hre before buying from a new online vendor.
Why doesn't the word 'planing' show up in my computer spell check?

Router bits are not a good place to skimp on quality. For the same price, you can buy fewer bits of better quality that will be less risky, and will still offer plenty of profiles. A cheap bit that throws a piece of carbide spinning at 20K rpms is no bargain....I was in a shop when it happened and I got lucky that the cutter found a wall and not my colon.

Vendors like Holbren, MLCS, Price Cutter, Woodcraft's $5 sale bits, Woodline, and Grizzly to name a few, offer proven quality and value for the dollar on bits that IMO are a much safer choice and should offer better performance too.

I was already going to suggest to stick with Holbren for even the "economy" level bits and based on that link even more so.
Brian gives excellent service and I don't think anyone here has had any problems with his bits. Plus, now he's got you covered for every level of quality/price.

As has been said before, do you want to rely on a $1 bit travelling at 20,000 RPM for safety?

I am always suspicious when I see these kinds of advertisements.
They want you to believe this set has a 'value' of $400....but it's yours for only a tenth of that.
That's taking the MSRP a bit to the extreme!

I agree with Dustmight, router bits should be bought with the same consideration as any tool.
I personally am partial to Holbren and ,,, and,,,,,, well come to think of it, Holbren is the only bits I have,,, oh wait I also have 2 of Woodcrafts $5 on sale router bits.

I also like Woodbits.com for single bits (some cheaper there, some are cheaper at Holbren. Shop around), but the sets are cheaper at Holbren.
