    Discounted Taunton Books

Bookcloseouts.com has a whole bunch of Taunton books on sale. I just picked up 5 that totaled $80 at cover price for $32.95 plus shipping.

If you spend more than $35, you can get $5 off by using coupon code "castle" and password "bookclosouts".

I find most of the Tauton Press books well worth the money. My favorite authors are Sandor Nagyszalanczy, Jim Tolpin and Tage Frid.

I'm a first-time homeowner and exploring my sissy side. Lots of gardening books. A few wood working books, though I havn't received them yet so can't comment. A few of the books mentioned in this recent thread are for sale.

I found most of the books at BCO were also available at amazon. . . at full price. On the other hand, you could buy them used a bit cheaper than BCO from "other new and used" or on ebay, but pay 4-8$ shipping each. I got 29 books, 29!! shipped for ~$15.

Some of the books at BCO are "scratch and dent" as well. It's listed in the summary for each book.

Bought 15 books and they all arrived today. "Garage Solutions" is the only book that is a disappointment as it is too elementary.

I went through the list, selected ones that looked interesting, and then traipsed over to Amazon.com to see the prices and reviews. Prices for new ones seemed about $1 more at Amazon, but used ones in very good condition were cheaper. About half those I'd chosen had mediocre reviews, with the most common complaint being that the collections of articles on a given subject tended to not hold together well, or even to contradict each other. Having pruned down my list from about 10 to 5, I just scrapped the whole project. I'll buy when I need a specific book, and meanwhile just check bedtime reading out from the library.

Really...I ordered that Garage Solutions book too...what a waste of paper. Just go walk around Sears and you will see everything. I am reading the book on Spraying...dont know anything about it so it is quite useful to me.
