Craftsman Days and 12" Euro style bandsaw

Craftsman Club flyer arrived in the mail box this PM. For those waiting for a price break on the new style 12" BS #22400 (as I have been), beginning Sunday the Craftsman Club member price is $249.99, about as good as it is likely to get.

You fill out a form and send it in, not very hard. Nice little bandsaw for that price. I have the 14" version and am quite pleased with it.

I didn't see any restriction with using the VIP 10% discount Sunday night. Looks like it could be had for $225.

        Regards,
        Greg

Thats the second or third time I've heard the 'VIP sale' reference. I see the link on the sears home page, but the page is basically blank. Do you need to sign-up for this VIP disount, or is it just available to anyone on Sunday night?

          Thanks,
          Michael

How does this saw comapre to the delta i picked up from Costco 2 weeks ago for 130.00? is it worth the 120.00 more or should i stick with the delta? The delta is still in the box since i am still buidling my shop, so it could easily go back!

            thanks

Yes, but where is the form? Online? I didn't see a link on their very busy home page. I signed up for email alerts, but this sounds like something more formal... any help finding it? Even the link to that blank page?

                  Ok, that's just about maddening.....lol

How do you become a VIP ?

I found a link to the craftsman club.......one link said "join"......and you click that and end up on the sears page looking at craftsman tools with nothing about joining the club. One starts to feel a little silly at that point......

                    Craftsma Club join

Wish I could remember...been too long ago. The link, which is probably useless, is www.sears.com/club but it might be quicker to ask at your nearest sears.
You would think it would be in their general interest to promote the club a little more enthusiastically.

You don't sign up for anything. Just click the link and the following coupon appears in its own window. If yours is blank you must have ad blocking software installed or pop-up blocker turned on. Can you see the Rockler ads (Rockler) at the top of the BT3 Central pages?

From Sears site (found in google search)

Craftsman.com | Craftsman Clubs How to Join the Craftsman Club To join, stop by your nearby Sears, Sears Hardware, or Sears Hometown Dealer Store and ask for an application, ...

guess they want you to visit the store.

Depends. Re-saw is higher with Sears than with unmodified (no riser) Delta. If the bearing guides are as nice on the 12" as the 14", then that is a pretty big one in my book. The bearing guides are nice on the 14".

Having said that, in a beginners case I would stick with the Delta. If you find you grow into a bigger BS, then you can probably get almost 100% of your purchase price back in resell of the Delta on Craigslist.

RE: Club. Yes you must join in person. You will need to ask 20-30 people in the store to find someone who knows what it is. Then you will need 30-50 people to find the application.

Also, isn't there usually some 10% off if you put it on your Sears CC?
