Ryobi 18V Cordless Circular Saw w/Laser

OK, while doing my weekly cruise through the BORG, I found this item on clearence.

    Normally $59 now $35!

They are in the BORG computer as clearence and will not be reordering...

Is Ryobi killing yet another product line?????

    HD SKU is 338757

    In Central VA:

Intown Richmond shows 3 - 1 is probably the floor model
Hull Street shows 4 - 1 is probably the floor model
Williamsburg shows 4 - 1 is probably the floor model
Ashland shows 1 - probably the floor model
Mechanicsville shows 2 - 1 is probably the floor model

And the Tool Mgr won't sell the floor models....

    18v tools

Ryobi seems to be killing off some of the 18v One+ tools. They quit selling the compouind miter saw, and it looks like this one is going down as well. I don't think they are phasing out the 18v line though. It has been wildly successful for them.

Just anecdotally, I was touring around Washington DC last week. Just about everywhere I turned there was rennovation work going on, and a lot of the workers were using the One+ tools.

This is a good deal, thanks for posting. I am looking for a lightweight circular saw for my dad, who is in his seventies, and losing strength in his hand. I stopped by HD this morning and they had one for the price you mentioned. It is very light compared to the 12-15 lb. saw he currently uses.

The only problem is that it doesn't come with a battery or charger, which when combined will set a person back another $45-50, as listed in the store. Ouch! (I still may get it, although I am looking at what's on the market.)

You may be better off getting one of the Ryobi starter kit packages that include a charger, 2 batteries and a drill in addition to the saw such as this one for $109.00 (also includes a free sander by mail)

Since the saw is included in most of the combo packages, there probably isn't a big demand for them as separate bare tools explaining the clearance.
