Sears 22104 baby zip code TS $399

    CC flyer 7/23 to 7/29
Or buy three for $360 each. ha

My real interest was the listing as "closeout" "while quantities last".
Any one heard news of demise of these saws, one of the few sears tools gems?

I know several members snagged the 22124 at clearance at Sears Essentials earlier but that seems due to Kmart problems with that particular outlet which was started up before the merger.

I bought the 22104 for my Dad for Christmas last year for $360. That was a low price point plus a 10% off type deal that got it down to that. Of course in January I picked up 22124 for $400!

Anyway, to address your question this model has shown online as being "closeout" for a couple months. This saw, along with the other two in the series were made by a vendor for Sears. I know that this vendor has since started its own line of tools it is marketing in the US. It includes the 22124 saw that it produced for Sears but not the other two models. Could be that production of the 2 smaller saws will cease. Just speculation. Or Sears could have gotten mad that they are now selling the identical saw to the 22124 under another name (Steel Works or something like that). Who knows with these arrangements. At any rate I believe the two smaller saws will be discontinued by Sears. But that is my guess.

The 2006-2007 Sears catalog still has the 22114 and 22124 but not the 22104. I've heard no rumblings about discontinueing the 22114, but have about the 22104. My guess is that they didn't want the 22104 to compete with their new 21829 BT clone. I didn't realize Steel City was Orion....I'll check it out.

Yep. They seem to have a nice line up as well. I like their marketing strategy, of providing 1 or 2 items in each line and doing it well. I hope they stick to it.

There is a 22104 on clearance for $289.93 at the Sears at the Paramus Park Mall in Paramus NJ.

It is marked "As-Is" so there are probably some missing parts.
