Lowes clearance weekend

Went by Lowes this evening and they were putting out big tables of clearance stuff some of which you may be interested in, some just plain junk. I walked out with an Irwin 29 piece black oxide drill bit set normally $45 and a bernzomatic trigger tip normally $23 for $5 each. Normally I would get the bits but for $5 it thought it was a bargin and the trigger tip is handy when you are sweating copper joints. My other tip I had to light with a lighter.

I may have to go by again in the morning as they were not finished putting out the items, there may be other stuff of interest. May be worth a check in you local store.

I went to my local Lowes and no clearance tables.

It must have been a local manager deal if other stores aren't doing it too. This one was store wide, they had lighting fixtures 75% off, plumbing fixtures, pretty much every department had something out there.

Went to Lowes. Clearance tables. But I went late, so the good stuff was gone. I only got a couple 2" brushes for $0.50 each and the last power tool they had: a B&D ROS for 50% off (display model). Missed out on the better tools. Only got the sander, because I needed to upgrade from the old Craftsman I got.

Kobalt Tool Chests

Local Lowes had tables out front. They also had parked several boxed Kobalt tool chests out front with clearance "stuff." Most of the Kobalt stuff was marked 10 - 25% off.

Ya Never Know

Ya just never know. Stopped by Lowes a few days ago for something and saw that they had an outdoor sale going on. I was checking it out as an employee brought out a Hitachi 14 volt impact driver that looked like the display model, two batts and charger, for $10!! I checked it out and everything worked, so it now resides at my house. Ya never know what you'll find, and sometimes you just get lucky.

The only deals that I have seen, were a Hitachi circular saw (looked like a return) for about $10 less than the new one on the shelf. I rarely find the kind of deals that you guys are talking about. The deals that I find are decent, but not often great like you describe. Man the 14v impact driver would have been a bargain, that I would have liked to find;-)

Lowes sidewalk sales are single store sales. They have them sporadically to get rid overstock, out of stock, returns and damaged goods. Usually unannounced and usually on Saturday being the busiest day; sometimes you can get a real good deal if at the right place at the right time. Percentage off varies and is negotiable; ask for the Zone Manager. Usually managers are anxious to get rid of their clutter and will take a reasonable offer; otherwise the stock will end up in the dumpster.
