I was in my local Lowes again as I go by it all the time and today they had a GMC 10 Red Eye 10 inch sliding compound miter saw with laser that appeared to be sealed in the box marked down to $99. There was only one on the floor to the left side of the clearance table in front of the tool area. If you are in the market for an economical sliding CMS and live nearby you might want to check it out. They also had a couple Delta dust collection tables marked down significantly. It might help to call first to check for availability if you are longer than a short distance away. --- Steve

Just a warning, I haven't had any personal experience with this saw but there was a review on sliding CMS's in Workbench Mag in the June 2005 issue and they advised against buying this saw. They said..." we didn't find enough good about his saw to justify even it's ridiculously low price." referring to the $199 price. Not sure if it's exact same model but it's the blue and yellow one with the laser guide. -
I was just in Lowes again to get some paint chips and it was gone. I don't know if Lowes honors the 30 day trial period on closeouts if the user does not like a GMC or other product. I would imagine they would not fight too hard about it since it says 30 days right on the box and Lowes seems to be very customer orientated in my experience. Other reviews have given it a decent review and user should gather as much info as possible before purchase. I wonder if they are going to quit carrying GMC. I see that GMC is now available on Amazon and qualifies for free shipping. From the dust on the boxes I doubt that they sell much of that brand. --- Steve
