I bought that very combo just 6 months ago and have been very happy with them. Used the brad and the finish nailers a lot already on building my workbench, table saw base, crown molding, baseboard, door and window casings. No issues at all.

Paid $299 for them new.

I picked up the same rig from amazon earlier in the spring when they were running a crazy special for $165 shipped or thereabouts.

The compressor is a oilless model, so it is noisy, but only runs for about a minute every 20-25 finish nails or so (don't expect to run a framing nailer off this thing). The guns are decent with adjustable depth and exhaust ports and protective tips that don't seem to mar the finish.

For the price I got them it was a no brainer, but this seems like a decent deal as well.

I ran the heck out of a framing nailer off this compressor.

BTW, you may need to check to make sure your air pressure setting is correct. Mine cycles every 20-25 using the framing nailer. Using the BN125 I can shoot 40-50 nails per cycle.

Jeffrey, what pressure do you run the tank at, what depth settings are you using and what kind of wood are you driving into? Wouldn't doubt I've got something setup wierd.

My 20-25 estimate was based on finish nails, and was probably low (more like 25-30). Using the brad nailer I'll get 35 brads or so.

I've not used a framing nailer on this compressor, but I've read several postings on several sites where people only get 10-12 nails per cycle. If that's true, I wouldn't want to run the compressor that much for a couple of reasons:
- I don't think it's made for that kind of duty
- It takes a good minute to fill back up, so you're nail-less for a while
- Most importantly I don't want to listen to that thing all day

Not to say that you can't run a framing nailer off of it, just that I wouldn't want to run the heck out of it to do so.

I've used a framing nailer on my PC 6 gal as well. I'm not a professional and was not building a house, so speed wasn't an issue. I was, however, pleasantly surprised at how many nails I got between cycles. Granted, I was only shooting 2 5/8" nails into 2x4's, but it met my needs.

That's a good price. Wish I had gotten the crown stapler too.

Great compressor. I have had similiar results and would not hesitate running a framing nailer on this thing. Do buy an extra hose so that you can put the compressor outside or around the corner so that you don't have to listen to it when it does cycle. I often wear hearing protection when working in the same room with it.

I have that same compressor and have used a framing nailer to build a 3 car garage, a 3 story porch and various other projects and it works very well with it. Even a professinal is not going to use the framing nailer on a continous basis (You still have to set up the work). Have also used it to roof 2 garages and two fairly large houses, which does use more air than a framing nailer if you're moving along with a helper feeding the shingles. Still going strong after about 5 years.

I guess I don't understand why there is so much concern about the compressor cycling on and off.
