    free ridgid 14.4 impact driver

I was browsing HD yesterday and noticed an offer for a free ridgid 14.4V impact driver with the purchase of the 14.4v X2 drill. The offer lists a battery coming along with the ID too.

So it looks like for $189 less than canonical 10% one can get 3 batteries, dual port charger, X2 drill and ID. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

I am about to send off my paperwork for this. It is really weird when you read it in the store. It state that you have to buy the drill on one receipt. So I kept thinking that I needed to buy the drill and impact driver, then get a rebate. That is not the case. The impact driver is that same as the one they sell in the store, except for the battery. They will ship a "compact" battery with the impact driver. Still a good deal. I'm really happy with the drill, the clutch is worlds better than the clutch on my 14.4 DeWalt.

I am using several tools made by Ridgid now. I find the quality on par with that of Dewalt. I no longer use any cordless Dewalts, but while they lasted, they were Mules. Sheer Brute force from cordless. I may have to jump on this deal. Thanks for posting it.

Wow, pity I recently bought the Ryobi setup! This would have been sweet!

What is the difference between the Ridgid 14.4v and Ryobi 18v impact driver besides the number. I know Ridgid has an excellent reputation for making professional tools but Ryobi makes a darn good Bt3100. Am I better off with the higher volt or go with the name brand? What spec should I look at?

Don't forget to signup for Ridgid Limited Lifetime Service Agreement. It includes the batteries!!!

I have the 18V Ridgid Impact Drivers, I Love them. It's amazing how better they are. I think the Impact driver is one of the best kept secrets out there. I don’t have a 14 Volt Impact Driver so I can not compare.

I'm not sure whether everyone know about this.

Goto homedepot.com. Click on Rebate Center option under Promotions menu.

You will see "Search for a Rebate" page. Choose your favorite manufacturer. It will list all the rebates that manufacturer offers. It includes their "future" offerings as well.

                Return and get with rebate???

I just recently purchase the impact drill and love it, but this is a pretty good deal. Do I return my impact drill and spend $10 more for the drill and use the rebate to get my impact drill again. Is this ok to do?

You can return the impact drill, if it's within 30 days (not sure might be 60). Then buy the drill, fill out a rebate form, send it in, about a month later you will get the impact drill delivered to your door.

Then let your buddy who likes your impact drill, go to HD and get a slightly used one for less.

Thanks Jay for posting this. I've been thinking of buying a Dewalt cordless drill for some time now. However, with Lee's endorsement, I went ahead and picked up this Ridgid last night. Also signed up for the HD credit card to get the extra 10% off...

Saw this deal last night and thought it loooked pretty good.

However, if it were me, I would buy the equivalent Milwaukee kit that was displayed a few feet away:

                      14.4 Drill (with belt hook)
14.4 1/4" hex shank impact driver
                      Charger
                      Flashlight (with belt hook)
                      (2) 2.4 AH Batteries
                      Belt hook mechanism
                      Soft case.

The belt mechanism attaches to your belt and allows retention / quick release of either the drill or flashlight. Perfect for ladder work or when you need 2 hands.

Well worth the extra $10 at $199 total.

Holy cow, wish I'd stumbled on this before spending a c-note to get my DW drill rebuilt.
