BTW, I tested it out on poplar. It works smooth as can be, taking the full thickness bite all at one time. It is fully adjustable with very thin dhims starting at 7/32" groove and working up to I think 3/8". The tongue bits are similarly adjustable.
Next up, when I get the time, is the cherry for the cabinet panels. I bought MDF plywood that was supposed to be a full 1/4" but it is 7/32". The nice guy who ordered it for me even checked it in the store to be sure, and said, "yup, it's 1/4", but I guess his eyesight isn't very good because I know he is honest. At least I only bought a small amount to do just the bathroom cabinet as a dry run for the kitchen.
