No comment on Family Handyman, you 2 have already convicted yourselves, no further trial necessary, just a volunteer to build the stocks! ;-D

    Thanks Ken.
I may have to give PW a run. Less than $8 on ebay for a year.
How many projects do they have in a typical issue and what is the experience/skill level for the projects?

      Received mine...but is it free?

I was thinking i was missing out, but i received my first copy of the 'free' WB yesterday. But today, i received an invoice for 18 issues of WB for $30. So did i read it wrong on the offer - was it a free year, or just the 'first issue' (the standard teaser 'free' magazine offers)? what do i do with this invoice? if i mark it 'cancel' and send send it back (as i have done to others not-free offers), they might cancel me right-away and i don't my year...

I actually have purchased a couple of Family Handymans off the shelf and used a lot of the information. FH seems to be much more clear on who they are targeting and therefore I have found their articles more useful. It seems WB is trying to combine two narrow segments together? Yes I want to use my woodworking skills to enhance the value and beauty of my home but I didn't find that WB delivered a lot to help me with that endeavor.
I like Family Handyman's format; friendly approach and insightful usage, but their plans are a bit vague. My first EVER project, after building saw horses which I really don't consider projects, was a wall mounted three panel pegboard. Lots of guessing on measurements on the outer frames, but I figured it out. I also began to see how the BORG wood prices would cut into my budgets, substituting white pine on some of the parts and poplar on the other parts. Overall, it was a good feeling to finish and have displayed in my garage.
