    Help

Which way should I go for my first router? Should I get this Bosch kit for $145 (I've already ordered it and Amazon is now preparing to ship) or should I wait for the Freud FT2000E 3-1/4 HP Electronic Variable Speed Plunge Router for $110 which may or may not come when it is scheduled for the at end of May? Unfortunately getting both is not an option.

Ah, gotcha, just read his reply too quickly... but that does lead me to a question... if the Bosch comes with a over the table height adjustment already, is there any advantage to buying an aftermarket lifting control?

      Thanks.

I couldn't wait to decide. I just ordered the Bosch kit, $148 total. The pluger base will work better with the Jasper 200 circular jig than using the bigger Freud.

Ideally, I will be able to keep the Freud which at $85 will be tough to beat for a router table.

I'm so glad now I never used that $90 Ryobi 3 base kit. got the Bosch just under the wire.

Man I need to chwck this site more during the day. I have been waiting for a deal on that router kit, It is actually in my cart. But since I just checked the site I missed it again. Was Amazon closing this kit out or was it just a great sale?

It's back to "not available" which it had been for the last few weeks.

They must have found a few in a back room.

I was talking about the $150 going towards this Bosch router purchase.

I haven't seen the Bosch version yet, but I haven't been impressed by any built in over table height adjust yet. The Woodpecker Plunge Lift also has a nice machined Aluminum plate which is better than I would do. I'm still trying to figure out if the money is worth it or not. One thing wbout getting tools at these prices is that you can probably make money if you decide to go a different route and sell them.
