I noticed it at this price a several days ago, but it has been unavailable up until now. I really wasn't looking for a new router at this time, but i do need a plunge and variable speed router and at $145 it is hard to ignore. I need to finish a couple of ongoing projects so i have time to use all of my new tools!EricComment

Dang it guys. You shouldn't be posting this stuff right after guys receive their tax refund check. I am planning on hanging the Hitachi under a table and didn't relish the thought of using the piece of crap Skil for hand held routing... Darn it. I guess I have a Bosch now to go along with the Besseys and Mortiser that will be arriving. How in the world am I gonna explain all these boxes that will be greeting us when we get home for the next two weeks?Joe SacherComment

Akos, don't you have a friend who lives across the line? If I lived that close to the border, I would be finding one.Last edited by bigsteel15; 04-25-2006, 02:33 PM.Brian

I feel your pain... in the last two months, I have had enough boxes to fill up half of a bay of my garage.
I'm debating this kit versus a Hitachi M12V.
I bought one of the closeout CMT Industrio tabletops from Sommerfield, and I was going to drill the insert plate to fit my Porter Cable PC690LVRS. But I was thinking something beefier like the M12V would be nice. Right now, the M12V can be had for $160 - 10% = $144.
Not the best price ever, but do you guys this it's a better choice for under a table than the Bosch?
Thanks...

The Hitachi just seems like a no frills power house to spin bits. I picked mine up during the $80 off fiasco. I figure with a Woodpecker Plunge Lift ($150), I should have a nice setup. You have to spend much more money to get that power in other brands. For handheld use, the Hitachi isn't near as nice as others. Although, my $150 for the lift just went to the Bosch. I'll have to put that off a little further.Joe SacherComment
