    Craftsman Scroll Saw #224360 $59.97

I was just in my local sears today (Glenadale, CA) to pick up the jointer they were blowing out and came accross this scroll saw. I tried to google some info on it but couldn't find any. If anyone knows anything about this scroll saw I'd appreciate it. Wondering if I got a good deal or not. I forgot to ask them what the original price was. It looks identical to this one (21612) with the same exact specs except the more expensive one looks like there is some sort of guard attachment near the blade and the throat plate is yellow instead of red.

I picked one of these up about a month ago. Check this thread http://www.bt3central.com/showthread.php?t=19568& for my comments. I'm pretty happy with the saw. The main disadvantage is that it uses pin-end blades.

I was trying to get them to throw in the stand but they wouldn't. It doesn't matter though cause I'm planning on returning it as it doesn't work. I should have asked them to plug it in and test it before I left the store with it. Somewhat disappointed but I'm still happy I was able to pick up the jointer. Thanks for the link to the thread.

I just picked up this model scroll saw at Tuttle Crossing Mall in Columbus, Ohio for $51.97 - floor model, in the box, all the manuals there, seems complete, killer deal, had a sticker on it stating the price was $255. They did not seem to have any others.

These have been on clearance for a while now. When I got mine there were 2 left in boxes. I'm pretty sure they only lasted because the sign on them said $150, but it rang up for $60 at the register.

I don't think I would have paid $250 for this unit, but for $60 it's a bargain. Very little vibration and the dust collection system (pretty unique as most scroll saw just have a blower) seems to work pretty well. I don't mind the pin end blades for most of the work I do. I decided to keep my older Delta saw for finer work as that uses plain end blades.
