HF 1" SDS Rotary Hammer $50, Kit $75

Harbor Freight has a 1" SDS Rotary Hammer for $50 here:
    http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=41983

They also have a 1" SDS Rotary Hammer with kit for $75 here:
    http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=47606

Anyone know what the differences are between the 2 hammers? The 2 pics look different. I need to demolish a 20'x20' concrete patio - can I use this drill and a sledge hammer? Thx.

I have the 41983 and have been happy with it. Making 1" holes in concrete goes very fast. as for demolishing a 20'x20' patio it would still be a lot of work. This tool is not a jackhammer. I have used it with a chisel to open a hole in my patio to put in a fencepost. It does fine chiping away concrete to relocate a drain.
    Opinions are like gas;
I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

The more $ one has a higher tool weight and more BPM,so I quess that is the better tool.

I purchased the 41983 awhile back for like $32 AC. It has worked great for me and done everything I've asked of it very well. For the price I love it!

Thanks for the replies everyone! $32 sounds like a great deal, so I think I'll wait a little while and see if the price comes down again. The patio is a summer project, so I can afford to wait :-) BTW, I will be breaking up the 20'x20' area into 2'x2' blocks to re use them in the yard, so the SDS should work out well.

For $50 I'm thinking about getting this rotary hammer. The tool description on the HF website says "two modes."

Is that correct? Most rotary hammers have three: hammer only, rotate only, and both.

            Thanks.

              Link to the PDF manual:
              http://www.harborfreight.com/manuals...1999/41983.PDF

According to the instructions given on Page 7, you can set the tool to these modes:
              - Drill Only
              - Hammer Drill
              - Chisel

I dont own it yet - so I cant confirm if the manual is accurate...
