This is not a great deal but it is the best I have seen on a quality NEW router. It is said to be not as loud as most. It has a very good warranty as well.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...lance&n=228013

The same router but in a kit with with fixed and plunge bases is available for 140. It includes template guides as well. I think a kit is a better deal. I have this kit and it works greata and it is the quitest I have. For hand-held use single speed is not an obstacle. The router has soft start.
PS. Do not try external speed controller with it - will not work.
