    Hitachi M12V for $160 at Amazon

    I was still sad about Amazon cancelling my Freud router order for $122 incl. all the accessories. But I saw the Hitachi for $160, less the 10% tooldays discount, and free shipping, making to $144. Amazon says it was $540, then $197, so $160 seems good. Does anyone have experience, or other comments on this router?

    I believe they were selling this router on Amazon for $149.99 about a month ago.

      It's a great router, a big, strong monster, but NOT regularly priced at $540 anywhere. Don't believe Amazon's "list" prices. They are not accurate indicaters. Amazon has been selling this unit around a buck and a half for some time now. That is a competitive price, but not the deal of the century.

            wasnt it like $125?

            Couple of weeks ago, weasn't it at like $125, or thereabouts. I think ballpark $150 is the standard cheap price.

            As far as amazon's "list" prices, its almost criminal what they claim. $540?!?! Hahahaha. I don't think its ever been over $300, and that includes the day it came out in the most fanciful of boutique woodworking stores. I was looking at a canon 10-22 ef-s wide zoom lens, they claimed it was $2,399 list, marked down like 78% to $689.99. At 689.99 it still is not the cheapest, and I've never seen it above $900, even at the local yuppie camera store. $2400?!?!, They gotta start examining the common "make it look good" approach versus the "we lie our tails off and sell snake oil" approach.

              Hi JGrobler;
              It's a great router and that is a fair price. I've had mine in a homemade table for about 3 years or more with a Rousseau plate and Router Raizer and I have no complaints. Would I buy it again today? Yes, no hesitation. I think it's the best buy in this size routers, in my humble opinion of course! But this time I would go with the Woodpecker lift and aluminum plate. I'm richer now!!
