Looks like the HF DC System is a better bang for the buck
    I think for ~$130 ($160 - 20%off coupon) you get a HF 2HP, 1200 cfm, 30micron filter system.

Is there a standard shipping charge or do they base it on youor zip? Never purchased anything from them before.

      Thanks,
      Greg

Looks like $43 for shipping, I believe that is a flat rate, no matter where you are in the Cont. US, but chk with them to be sure. The bags on this are also 30 microns, like the HF. Like Venkat said, really, this is not a great deal compared to the HF unit. The CFM @ 500 is very low also, and from what I gather, most listed CFM's are high to begin with, so...

According to a recent DC review in FWW, 800cfm is the smallest size you want your DC to be in order to collect dust effectively - in particular, the fine dust. Out of the lineup, the best was Delta 50-760. 1.5HP, 1200CFM, and starndard 1-micron filtration bag- those can cost $50-100 all by themselves. Currently out of stock on amazon, but it $300 there, and looks like it is eligible for 10% discount and free shipping. If I were shopping for a DC, I'd splurge an extra $100 and got the Delta.

            Guys,
            Read ads carefully.
CFM units are not exact science, they are loosely defined.
My Jet DC is rated for 3/4HP and 610CFM, a slightly bigger Jet DC is rated 1HP and 650CFM, el cheapo GMC DC is rated 1hp and 900CFM. Do you expect me to believe that a $30 GMC piece is better than Jet for $200? It is more likely that reputable manufacturer will underrate the unit to protect itself against future claims while low end manufacturer will overrate to sell more.

How noisy are these? I've my TS in the garage and I shut the garage door when
I operate it fearing any neighbours complaints.
