I'm a newbie so pardon me if this is a stupid question but will this work on a non variable speed router or is strictly for variable speed routers? I don't have one of these yet so I don't know how it works.

            Not for VS Routers

The subject device is NOT for variable speed outers!

The VS type Routers already have a Speed Control built in.

If you add an external Speed Control, the two Speed Controlers will fight each other and won't play nice at all.
