    Columbian Clamps @ Lowes

    Just got back from Lowes. Found the Columbian heavy duty clamps on clearance.

    Got 6 of the 40" for $13.99 ea.

    1 of the 24" for $11.49

    3 of the 12" for $9.44 ea

    From what I could tell all were half price.

      I've been looking at these at my local Lowes. They are displayed right next to the Besseys. Fancy that.
      They look really good. And I. like Pappy, strongly believe in the statement that there is no such thing as too many clamps. I want to get to "100" and then I'll slow down.

              My Lowe's is out. They now have the same clamp with "Jet" as the tradename.

                          I have a slew of these things-and IMO, they don't even compare to the Columbian, the Jorgensen Cabinet master, the Jet or the Bessey. Several of mine slip when you apply pressure.

                              As I remember, the Columbian had a Yellow handle, and the wide, thick steel bar much like the Bessey. Very nice looking, heavy duty clamps.

                                  Please note that these are Quick Clamps, not the same as the ones with the lever "leaves". In my experience these will slip and are much harder to get "started" than the typical bar clamps (you have to hold the head in position and then thighten it up).

                                  Also the "Y" shaped head clamps are on clearance as well.
