    Bosch 4212L CMS + 1587AVSK Jigaw - $255 Shipped At Amazon

    All,

Not in the market for either of these items, but thought I would pass this along. Amazon has the Bosch 4212L 12" Dual Bevel Compound Miter Saw with Laser Tracking for $330 shipped (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...90321?n=228013)

Links on the bottom of the page note $75 off $300 purchase until 3/16, as well as a coupon for a free 1587AVSK Jigsaw (I assume both these offers can be combined).

    Regards,

    Pete

I'm new to this forum and I can already tell I'm going to get into a lot of trouble here! I just placed an order for a Shark Guard for my bt3100 with Lee on friday, and now I ordered this miter saw!

$255 delivered to my front porch is too good of a deal to pass up on this saw! The CMS is well worth the money alone, and I've used the same Bosch jigsaw at work thats included with the rebate to cut 1/4" aluminum plate and it performed great!

Thanks to all for a great forum. I've already learned a great deal about the bt3100 and some good wood working tips in the short time I've been here!

      Bosch 4212L and Jigsaw update

Just letting all know to hold up on ordering if you're doing it for the attraction of the free jigsaw, read the rebate fine print.

I caught a glitch in the process and am in the middle of waiting a reply from Bosch on this one, they, Bosch, even said to hold off.

First, if you order a Miter saw from Bosch through Amazon...any of 3 models, you are eligible for a free Bosch jigsaw....AFTER you send in the rebate and UPC and Receipt from the Amazon sale of the miter saw. DO NOT add the Jigsaw to your order, Bosch sends you the Jigsaw in the mail after you send in the paperwork once you get the Miter Saw.

Here's the problem.....the miter saws are on backorder nationally until late april, early may as you will see when you check out on Amazon. The rebate must be submitted by April 15th....thus you will not be able to get your rebate sent in in time to the date restraints, which require the original UPC and Receipt from the miter. I canceled my Amazon order after talking to Amazon, then the Rebate center, then Amazon, then the Rebate Center again, then finally to Bosch. Bosch will have the final say as to what to do and are supposed to contact me as they realize there is a glitch here and do not recommend placing the order if you are doing it in the hopes of getting a free jigsaw. Amazon told me they would honor the rebate even if sent in late, but Bosch said it is their rebate routed thru an outside rebate center with strick guidelines, they only do what they are contracted for, with the jigsaw sent through the rebate center and then from Bosch, not an Amazon rebate from Amazon sent from Amazon, so they, Bosch, have the final say. They even went as far as to say they will pick the jigsaw model......

So until they say yes, I canceled my order. The $75 off $300 sale is posted until the 16th of March so there is time to clear it up hopefully. I peraonally do not want to go threw the trouble of returning the saw, it is not a small unit and the free postage was $50ish....so do you get stuck with that if this happens

        Faust,
Thanks for your post. Can you please post an udate if you hear from Bosch? I ordered one last night, but I think I will likely cancel the order (especially after hearing your story). Its still a good deal even without the 1587, but that made the deal for me...

        Thanks!
        Scott

Same for me...255 minus 138 = 117 for a nice comepound miter and top jigsaw...which is what I said to Bosch. But on the saw itself, non sliding...an OK deal, nottop notch but stil good. For me it's 3rd miter saw, (tool junkie I am) so only worth it with the jig. I'll call them tomorrow and follow up and post as to what they say. I checked current Amazon and still the same post/print, no change except for a $20 rise in miter price.
I guess sometimes too good to be true. Think about it...$800 retail for $117.

Now I have to call all my friends and tell them the same, **** PITA, oh well. Not the first time with egg on my face

BTW, though the deal has changed on price of circular saw, the rebate has been extended to 04/30/06 for the free Jigsaw. Post marked by 05/15/06 per chat with Bosch.

I purchased the jigsaw in early February with the same backorder concerns. At the time it came with free 2 day shipping, but the start of the shipping was at the very end of the jigsaw promotion. I planned on cancelling the order when it got within 1-2 weeks of the end of the promotion. Amazon found a saw much, much earlier than advertised. I had the miter saw in plenty of time and am awaiting the jig saw.

Of course your mileage may vary, but it worked out very smoothly for me (assuming I get the jigsaw as advertised).

In fact I already own the jigsaw, but am selling it to a friend for enough to make a dent in the purchase price of the miter saw. Both the miter saw and the jigsaw are awesome. Much better than the Delta miter saw and Craftsman jigsaw they replaced.
