Freud router on sale ~ 125 with the 10%

Came across this in the ridgid forums.

"If anybody is looking for a spare Plunge Router this is quite a deal, apply the extra 10% off and it is $122.84 delivered to your door. The 99-039 variable height finger joint bit usually sells for more than that by itself."

That is a steal! Especially with the bits and edge guide, soft start and variable speed. It's times like this that I try to rationalize the need for another table router. The sole reviewer brags that he got it for $197, so $122 is a no brainer IMHO.

I'm in the same boat. I really don't need another router but for the price it may be too good to pass up.

              Freud Router Deal on Amazon

I flipped through a few of the reviews on Amazon. Main complaint is that the base isn't flat. Two reviewers noted problems with either overheating or simply dying after running 100 feet of wood past one.

There were lots of positive reviews but a couple of the problems, even though they're with machines that were built several years ago, concern me. I don't want to even attempt to machine a route base so its flat.

Are you talking about the same router? I only saw one review at Amazon for this machine but would be interested in reading the others. Please post a link.

                Thanks,
                Greg

                    Thanks much for the link.

I guess if you pulled the trigger on this you would want the one that's listed in the first post that comes with the $130 worth of bits (currently on back order).

                    Thanks again,
                    Greg

Too good of a deal to pass up. Ordered mine today.
How many routers is too many? Will the humane association take them away if I can't take care of them?

                        Code for 10% Off?

I am trying to get the router also. How do you guys get the extra 10% off? What is the code?

                        Thanks.

The code was tooldays but I think the 10% off code expired yesterday.

Fortunately I pulled the trigger yesterday afternoon before I left work. IMHOafter reading the reviews it was to good of a deal to pass up with the extras.

Freud router and Rousseau router lift

I posted this in a different thread but it's more applicable here.

Does anyone know if this router can be made to fit the Rousseau 3002 Router Lift? I tried to buy both the lift and the M12V during the Great Pricing Mistake, but the M12V never shipped. The price of the Freud seems reasonable, but now that I have the lift I'd like to pick a router that would work with it.

                            Thanks!

I have this router. I have it mounted in a router table. I bought it approx. 3 years ago, and have had no problems with it at all. I have a raised panel bit, which is probably as large as you'll use, and it goes through oak with no problem.
This is my opinion-yours may vary.
