    Sanding materials on ebay

talked a little about these folks in the turning section but though i'd put here as well,
    the store is http://stores.ebay.com/Oak-to-Ash-Woodworking

i bought a package from them containing 3 different sanding sheets made by MIRKA ( www.mirka.com ). abranet, abralon and mirlon.

it was $35,but looked interesting enough to try.. WOW it works superbly!
abranet is amazing! its like an abrassive screen-door mesh and beats the pants off any sandpaper ive ever used, goes from 80-600 grit. cant say yet if it really lasts 10x longer than sandpaper but i think its a must have,

the abralon is another great one, its linen-soft mesh on a soft foam pad and really conforms well against anything.grits from 500-4000!
the mirlon pads were like big thick plastic scouring pads, came in regular, very fine and ultra fine, i used teh ultra fine after the 4000 grit abralon but at that luster/smoothness i couldnt even tell a difference anymore,it was like glass.

anyhow, not sure this is the best deal going but i couldnt find cheaper,, also the first package this vendor sold me got lost in the mail i guess, i told them and was rushed a new one within the week, now thats service!

oh theres also a good deal on small hook/loop sanding discs. 500 for $13 !.

Wow- if this message wasn't from one of our senior forum members, I'd swear it was spam. Are you sure you're not getting a kickback, TribalWind?

Anything that makes sanding less of a chore is worth whatever it cost. I am on about hour #5 on a dresser I am refinishing.

I agree Abranet is amazing stuff. I don't think it lasts 10 times longer, but it doesn't clog and definitely lasts longer than most sandpapers I've used including Norton and Mirka Gold.
