Interesting... with the exception of that one cylindrical piece (is that also a laser?), it looks identical to the Johnson laser level kit which sells at HD for $40 and was on clearance a couple of weeks ago for $20. The Johnson, has the tripod, adjustable (floating?) head, the 18-inch laser level, two beam splitters, safety glasses and the case. The adjustable head clamps the level in position and has three thumb wheels to adjust it to level (integrated bullseye on head). The head also rotates 360 degrees and is incrementally marked.

So, what does that "cylindrical piece" do? I presume its another laser level and hopefully it's self leveling and if so, it might be worth pursuing. Overall, I don't care much for the Johnson that I have, too difficult to adjust and it isn't very accurate.

I picked up a cheap rotary laser level at Northern Tool last year for our deck-rebuilding project. Worked great -- my only grip was that it was too hard to see during the day in bright sun over the distances I needed (20-30 feet), so I ended up turning off the motor and just moving the "dot" to different places that I needed a level mark by hand. It works great indoors, and seems to be pretty accurate (more so than my water level, anyway...) The deck seems dead-level, in any case, and this is what I used to mark the posts for cut-off.

Not self leveling,but the levels are OK in quality,not hard to level unit with the base. The sears unit I returned was not as good,head wobbled and was $100 an no tripod or staight level.
