    Sears 14" bandsaw - $230

Oh yeah. In my previous post about the zip code saw, I forgot to mention that I also saw the 14" Craftsman bandsaw is selling for $230.

    http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...bcat=Band+Saws

I was thinking of getting it but unsure of the quality or its limits.

The web site link shows $449 dollars.

    Are there more incentives?

If you can get it for 230$, GET ONE. I have one and felt that I stole it at 386$ during an overlapping set of sales.

No rebate or incentives. Sign on the display say "clearance."

I think I go back in the morning to get the bandsaw, if I could figure out how to get a 400 pound saw off the back of my pickup first.

The saw is new in the box, still sitting in my pickup. I got it from Sears Essential. The store had two saws (one I brought and one display).

If anyone have a good idea on how to get the saw off my vehicle by myself, please let me know. Thanks.

Take 2) 2x4 and put them under the box with them sticking off the end of the tailgate(make sure they are evenly extended off the end) slide the box off as the weight passes the balance point the 2x4 will go down and act as a ramp.

I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

Open the box and take the pieces out, take the saw parts to your shop as you can handle them.

Just bring it over to my shop. I'll help you unload it and replace it with a nice 10" Craftsman model that is easier for one guy to unload.

I think I can beat that. I have a 9" that should be lighter.
                    Thanks again,

I was going to purchase this saw last night. Its on sale at the store I went to for $405 with the CC discount. I wonder if there is any way to find out if any other store has it on clearance?

Flatlander, if you are referring to a 15% credit card (CC) discount it does not apply to tools. The discount is only for appliance purchase. Disregard this message if you are referring to a Craftsman Club discount.

I went back to Sear Essentials this morning to get the bandsaw and noticed that the 22114 saw is also discounted 50%.

Where in NJ are you? I'm thinking a trip to that Sears Essentials might be in order this weekend.

When I "unloaded" my 14", I did as Ken suggested. I took the box apart in the back of my Aztek, and unloaded 1 piece at a time. Even still, you'll want some help. During assembly, the hard part is getting the saw up onto the cabinet. I did that with my wife, where I took the weight and she guided my location, but I'd strongly recommend having at least 2 lifters there for it. It's heavy and awkward.
