HF 34706 Lathe - $159.99 through 3/13/06

While trying to figure out which lathe I am going to buy, I noticed the new sales flyer listing the HF 34706 (the lowest decent HF lathe) for $199.99. (http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa/....do?bookid=116) on Page 5. With the 20% off coupon, it is $159.99. Flier states sale is good through 3/13/06.

Now I'm in a quandry between this one and the PSI Pro (hence my thread in Turning Forum).

Mine works well

I have been using that lathe for a little over 2 years, and it works well for me. Maybe a tad underpowered for larger bowls, but certainly a decent lathe to start out with. So far I am happy with it and not looking for an upgrade.

The HF 20% off coupon I saw expired 2/25. Is there another one out there?

I would just keep checking these two webpages and they will eventually update with a new expiration date. That is how it has worked for the last 6 months.

Good luck with your purchase. I have that lathe and for the money it does everything I have used it for. Mainly peppermills and coffeemills so far.

If you go into a HF with a slightly expired 20% off coupon, you can often talk them into giving it to you.
