Jet Mini for $171.85 or Delta Midi for $159.94 on Amazon

At the moment you can buy either the Jet Mini lathe (non VS) usually $279 for $171.85 (using code BMSMUTHR4BEN for $80 off at checkout, with an extra $3.14 off if you have the A9 discount, and then mail in the $25 Jet rebate).

Other choice is to order the Delta Midi lathe for $269.99 less the $80 BMSMUTHR4BEN code discount, and then do the $30 Delta rebate for a total of $159.94. Both of these lathes come with free shipping as well.

Seemed like pretty good deals to me so I bought both, one for me and one for my middle son. (We have birthdays coming up in March) We'll see how we like them and then may return one if the other is a clear winner.

    Good Luck, Tom

am i missing something? it appears you can only use the 80 off code if you spend over 420. i'd love the jet, but at
    Price After Mail-In Rebate: $254.99
less 40 discount leaves me a 215 hole. not bad, but i'm still kicking myself because of a 100$ unit that i missed out on locally.

    from Amazons product page:

Get instant savings on drills, routers, sanders, lathes, joiners, combo kits, and other power tools for woodworking. Enter promotional code BMSMUTHRBEN2 to get $20 off a total purchase of $120. Use code BMSMUTHR2BEN to get $40 off $220, or BMSMUTHR4BEN to get $80 off $420. These offers apply only to purchases of products sold by Amazon.com February 8, 2006, through February 28, 2006. Offer must be redeemed at our Web site, http://www.amazon.com, toward the purchase of products sold by Amazon.com. If Amazon.com is not the seller, this will be noted on the product detail page.

Amazon was giving $80 off last night

I don't know how it worked, it just did last night. I couldn't get the correct $40 off code to work, so I experimented with the $80 off code and it took $80 off. Only thing in each of my two orders was one lathe. If it was a mistake on Amazon's part, they may have fixed it now. They have been having a lot of trouble with their online discount codes.

        Worked for me

I tried it just a second ago and it worked fine. The jet's price was $199 after discount. The VS model will also work and isn't bad for $299.

                  Hi Russianwolf,

Would it be possible to add the bed-extension to this lathe and work on a 4x4 that would become a table-leg of ~3ft height ;?)

                  Thanks,
                  /venkat

the bed extension is available and I think it allows up to 40" turnings.

This is the lathe that got "best bang for the buck" or some such in one of the reviews recently.

what all the info, check out www.pennstateindustries.com

It's a fairly nice lathe that most seem to like, not quite as good as the jet/delta, but well worth the price from what I hear.

It appears the $80 code works about on anything in the tool area. For amazons sake they need to get there programmers up to speed.

I just ordered the Dewalt framing Nailer D51845, that was 239.00 plus a free carpenter tool belt worth 24.99, got free shipping and paid a total of 159.84.

                      It looked like this

                      Subtotal: 264.83
                      Shipping 13.01

                      Promotion Applied -24.99
                      Promotion Applied -80.00
                      ______________________

                      Total 159.84

I got the email conformation and printed it, so i will see how it goes. Might be like the Free recip saw and have to call again, or maybe it will go through.

Just a heads up incase anyone is looking at somehting other than lathes!
