Hitachi Bandsaw Alert (San Diego area)

I just scored a brand new in the box CB13F 12" bandsaw from the Oceanside Lowes. (San Diego Area) I showed one of the reciepts printed from this forum. No questions asked. They had four in stock, I verified that. I saw all four them in the overhead storage area.

The computers also showed five in San Marcos, but I did not get any effort from sales associates to locate them for me on the phone. They said we probably have them somewhere, but don't know where they are.

I paid $120.00 even for this saw. I am very excited, because I have a cheaper 9 inch Ryobi bandsaw that will soon be on Craigslist...hehehe.

These do not have lifetime warranty, Husky@HD,and HF ones do. I have both and the Husky is better in 1/2" drive size due to 250

if anyone in the orange county area is still looking for the hitachi bandsaw, the huntington beach lowes (714) 907-9006 still has two new in box. they price matched the $120.00 receipt that is posted above. the m.o.d who approved it was named jeremiah. good luck.

I think I registered at this site a couple of days ago. I am pouring through the manual and may attempt putting it together tonight.

Dan, I have been playing with my new BS since last night. Too bad Hitachi didn't include a feeler gauge in the parts bags. I don't have one handy and they are calling for a 0.02 adjustments for the blade guides. Also, what setting did you decide to use for the blade tension gauge? It doesn't say in the manual. Anyway, Man, this was another sweet deal, if I may add to the excitement.

Let me know if anyone is/has found a decent fence for this tool or if you are going to just build one for it. I need ideas.
