If I made a fence out of this, what would I use to hold a featherboard to the fence? Will it work with the t-bolts from Rockler? It doesn't look like the 1/4" bolts that work with most t-track will work with that profile. Thanks.

They actually sell all the attachments you may need for standard stuff. However, if Jeff gets a chance to chime in here, some stuff may be available elsewhere in the fuure.

This stuff is great. There are many manufacturers of this type of extruded aluminum. It is widely used in manufacturing facilities around the world for such things as machine bases, machine sub-assemblies, and machine guarding. It's like a grown up erector set.

I got a couple of scrap pieces from where I used to work and made a fence for my drill press table.

I wonder of they have a profile that could sub for the BT3 rails. Since they always seem to be in short supply and at a premium when you can find them. (pardon the pun) I'll have to check it out this weekend.

MoldnMaker, you may have some issues with plain ole acrylic. There are materials that are better suited to guarding than acrylic. The main properties I see desireable in acrylic is its briliance when finished right. Its some fine looking stuff, just not very impact resistant. If you want to tackle the Shark Guard on your own using acrylic, you will not have optimal results. I can get you a dirt cheap piece of polycarbonate to use. Just let me know. I do not condone acrylic in those plans. Looks the same, works different. In other words, I advise against using acrylic for this project. The other projects sound great though and I hope you share the results....
Thanks for pointing that out about the Acrylic. I was looking at thier polycarbonate and then started looking for the right size and it didn't dawn on me that it wasn't poly. when I ordered it( or when I posted the invoice), DOOOHHH!! [:I] guess I can use it for something else. As for cheap poly. offer, SURE just shoot me an e-mail with price w/shipping and how you want to be paid. As for results I'll be sure to post some pics.

If you made a table saw fence, with the extruded aluminum and the t-slot bearing, do you think it would stay parallel to the blade?

I think I could be done. But dont want to spend the money if it wont work.

Has anyone made jigs with this stuff? if so, can you post it with pictures?

                                Maybe...........
