That fence is nice. Its on the Craftsman table I have, probably the best part of the table.

Ken, do you think it will work on the BT router kit?

Same fence as used on the Bosch router table an the GMC router table. IMHO, the fence is pretty lousy and is a MAJOR pain to adjust (the t-nuts get jammed in the tracks on the fence). I'd avoid this even at 23 bucks.

At our local Sears they had the Craftsman Professional Leg Stand for a little less that $12.00. It is usually $79.99 and is suppost to mount up to any Craftsman Router table made since 1977.

                Andrew,
I don't immediately see any easy way to make it work with the BT in the same manner it does on the Craftsman and Bosch tables. On the Bosch and Craftsman tables it mounts to the table with L brackets that are fat on the bottom, and ride in depressions in the table top. Now, if you use it as I've seen the 'pros' use a fence, with the fence clamped on each end, yes that would work fine. The fence on a router table doesn't have to be exactly straight across the table top. The dust collection on the fence is real good, and on my table and another one with the Bosch name that I have used, the fence is very easy to adjust, nice and smooth. The bottom section of the outfeed side can be turned areound to do jointing.
The slots on the face make it convenient to mount stop blocks and feather boards.

Final_t what is wrong with the design? No problems with the t-nut for me,maybe it is the type you are using. I bought 2, one to use as a DP fence.

I just bought myself that Craftsman fence and put it together. Here are my 2c.
Included in the kit extruded aluminum bars, dust port with bit guard and hardware alone is enough to justify the clearance price. Similar dust port is sold by MLCS for $30 without the guard. The extruded aluminum is good for making all sorts fences, drill press fence, band saw fence as examples. I suggest you get yourself that kit first, think of where you want to use it - second.
The original mounting included in this kit will fit tables with V-grooves going front to back only, which means all Craftsman tables but not Ryobi. Other than that the fence will work. The original L-shaped brackets can be easily replaced with your own mounting. You can make it attached to Ryobi Rip fence or independent, you can also incorporate other convinience features like microadjust. It does not look like a big project.

Thanks for the tip on the router fence. I picked one up this a.m. for $23.00 at the Rockaway Mall, NJ store. They had 2 more left. Since sears does not do the best job of pricing their merchandise and I would have not known about this sale without this forum.

I also picked up 5 Oldham Woodworker Signature Series 10" x 40 Tooth combination table saw blades for a little under $17.00 each. These blades come with a free blade stabilizer and a free sharpening. I believe Fine Woodworking rated this blade as best value a few years back. The Rockway Mall, NJ store had 3 more left. The blades appear to have very light surface rust in some spots that would not affect blade performance.

Does anyone know the part number of the Sears tool stand that someone bought for $12.00.

The model number is 926478, it is a Craftsman Professional 24 1/4" Router Table Floor Stand. The box was tagged for $23.97 but rang up for $11.97.

I was able to find one of the Router fences at the local sears (they had 2 left) at 22.97 They still had the $89 clearance tags, but rang up at the $23 price. These can easily be mounted to rails... just dump the plastic V runners, add 2"x2"x1" blocks with a hole drilled through, and use a couple of the T-Bolts (1/4 20) and you are set (1/4-20 allows you to use knobs that come with Fence)

                          ... total cost = $23 fence $2.70 T-Bolts (t-nuts.com) + $0 for scrap blocks $26 for a solid aluminum fence

Thanks for the tip on the fence! I'll figure out a use for it after the clerance item is gone (hint, resell?) from the Sears lineup.

I found one at my second Sears local store. Neither store knew about the clearance price.

If I wanted to apply for a Sears Mastercard the guy would have taken $15 off the $22.98 clearance price but I don't want one of those cards. Keep the news coming. I'm still waiting for a HD Ridgid TP1300LS to go one sale sometime.

I saw a $49 Freud 7 1/4 circular saw blade buy one and get one free via rebate in either Lowes or HD newspaper circular yesterday btw....
