    Wood ID

Any chance someone here recognizes th his wood?

It turns super easily. I love the color. It's kind of like a tea color, with hints of orange.

    I think it's Bocote.

This wood makes me look good. Click image for larger version Name:	20200217_230241.jpg Views:	0 Size:	42.7 KB ID:	838722Click image for larger version Name:	20200217_230955.jpg Views:	0 Size:	47.5 KB ID:	838723

There is not enough of contrasting grain (black with mostly brown) to say conclusively that it is bocote. I have seen different woods with sections that don't look like the norm for that wood, so that could be bocote. That color brown with orange could be padauk, but padauk has a different grain quality that is notable with close up picts. Brown with orange is also a characteristic of cocobolo, but it too has a more distinct grain in most cases.

There are several sites that show samples of wood; here is one of my favorites: http://www.amazonexotichardwoods.com...ory/TB-CO.html
