    Anyone checked out Mailbird?

I recently downloaded it. I was searching for a 64 bit version of Thunderbird. A supported 64B version does not exist for Win 7 or 10. Anyway, I was getting fed up with Tbird about 12 years ago. I just have not found anything better in that time. I am happy to say that Mailbird changed that for me.

My main complaints with Tbird was when you have a crash and need to do a clean install, you loose all the archived history. That history is important to me.
They say you can retrieve it and trust me, I have tried numerous times unsuccessfully to do it.
It is also glitchy and more moody than my Ex. I have just lived with these inadequacies for far too long.

I recently updated to Win 10 and Tbird certainly is not liking that. I try to delete a spam message sometimes and it crashes Tbird.
Email has to be fast and reliable or you are wasting valuable time.

I saw the writing on the wall so to speak. Big monitor in front of me.

I was really pleasantly surprised with Mailbird.
If you too are fed up with Tbird, you might like a breath of fresh air that Mailbird offers.

I've used TBird for many years and through several machine and Windows upgrades including recently Win 10. So far it seems ok.

What version of MailBird are you using? (paid?)

I'm always interested in better email but as you say... I've found nothing better than TBird up to now.

I am doing the free trial right now which equals to the paid version. No ads. 30 days free. After that if you want the paid version, it will set you back $12.00 a year or $1.00 a month.
I'll have to check my piggy bank to see if I can cover that.

What do Thunderbird or Mailbird give you, that you can't get from the regular gmail account retrieval? Or are you using these clients with a work mail server in lieu of something like Outlook or Lotus Notes?

As you might guess, I live a sheltered life: my work gives me Outlook, and at home I use gmail with their web interface.

I have had the same email address since I first got the internet many moons ago. I am set in my ways I guess. I do have a Gmail account, but it is not as configurable as one through my ISP. I can check it online too, but the experience is a bit better on my desktop with Tbird and even better with Mailbird. I suppose with Gmail that the backups are probably not an issue. They aren't in MB either, but they certainly are in TB. I have not noticed if you can do logo signatures in Gmail or not, but TB had problems with that. MB is okay. When you delete something from Gmail, it is irretrievable. My emails stay on my ISP server as long as I want them to regardless of if I delete them on my desktop or not. I generally keep them on there for 90 days and then they just drop off the back.
Email is my thing I guess. I do not text. I think my longest text message sent was "ok."
